June’s leotard of the month is one of our stand out favourites from the Sara Mearns Collection with So Danca. The New York City Ballet Principal teamed up with So Danca to design a range of leotards, and we are not disappointed! The leotard has been designed with Sara’s style, dance passion and personality and aims to bring her prima style. This leotard is one of four that we have available from the collaboration between So Danca and Sara Mearns and we are obsessed with this one! We believe it’s a total stand out from the whole range.

What Colours does the So Danca Leotard come in?

The leotard comes in two colours, black and purple.

Even though the leotard is exactly the same, the two colours make the leotard look completely different. To really make a lasting impression we love the purple one - the shimmer panel is definitely going to impress in an audition. The black leotard is also a bold choice, it’s extremely versatile and can be worn for different types of dance. It’s definitely that little bit extra than your ordinary black leotard.

About Sara Mearns

Sara has been a Principal Dancers of the New York City Ballet since 2008. She began dancing at just 3-years-old at the Calvert-Brodie School of Dance, then attended the School of American Ballet from the age of 15. Sara worked her way to the Principal position from there. In 2018 she won the Bessie Award for Outstanding Performer, so we think if anyone knows what works for a leotard it will be Sara!
