2012 is here!

Professional dancer, dance teacher and choreographer

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year. For me it was so nice to have some time off during the festive season. Last year had been so hectic I think some family time was well and truly needed. As much as it’s important to work hard and dedicate yourself to what you do, it’s also essential that you take some time out to re charge and find that fresh drive for the New Year. I’m excited for what 2012 has in store!

Alleviate Update!

Alleviate are performing again on Sky 1′s Got To Dance 3… I really REALLY can’t wait to go back. We’ll be making a special appearance on Sunday 29th January 2012 so if you find the time make sure you tune in!

In one of my previous blogs I mentioned we had also done some more filming with Got To Dance for the new series, during that day we got to meet their new presenter Will. See our latest interview with him here.

Finally Alleviate have a new website. This will be kept regularly updated with all our latest news, including all our new projects and performances that we have on during 2012.

Rokit Performing Arts

Although I live to perform I have always loved teaching ever since I started at 16. I think it’s something throughout my dancing career I will always be involved in. It’s really rewarding with what you can do and achieve with a group of children or young people. Therefore this year I will be working for Rokit Performing Arts School opening in Cheshire. During December Rokit held an open day where I taught a taster class along with the other teachers. It was great to get to meet some of the kids that I will be teaching in January and for them to see what dance, drama and singing classes we have to offer. The syllabus is designed to build confidence, enhance fitness and encourage children to work as a team. Aspiring young performers are also given the diverse training that is required to become a professional performer. Each week my class will alternate between two different performing styles ‘Rokit Pop’ and ‘Rokit Theatre’. This will ensure students receive diverse training in the most relevant and up to date styles of performing. I’m really looking forward to being involved!
